Our MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program:
 

  • The CMHC program is a 60-credit degree program provides students with an integrated and comprehensive program of study that will focus on the following areas: counseling theory, human growth and development, psychopathology, social and cultural foundations, clinical skills, group work, special treatment issues, appraisal, research and evaluation, and professional orientation.
  • Prepares graduates for the opportunity to sit for the licensing examination and apply for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) for the state of Massachusetts, and parallel licenses, such as the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut and other states
  • Offers concentrations in:
    • Mental Health Counseling
    • Advanced Trauma-Informed Counseling
    • Alcohol & Drug Use Counseling
    • School adjustment counseling

Meet the Dean of Human and Health Sciences

Program Director Dr. Mark Benander, PhD, brings to Bay Path students extensive academic training in counseling psychology, psychopharmacology, and refugee trauma recovery, as well as decades of clinical experience in psychological and developmental diagnostic evaluation and counseling. His diverse work settings have included outpatient counseling practices, early intervention agencies, and hospital units.
