Both degrees prepare students for academic teaching opportunities. The main difference is in the scope of the programs. DHSc programs offer a broader perspective of health science and focus on leadership. PhD programs are very specific in focus and require more research. The research project in the DHSc program focuses on using knowledge, theory, and research to solve real-world problems in health science, often called applied research.
