Bay Path University’s Special Education Administrator program is like no other in the state of Massachusetts. Our unique coursework was designed to look at administration through the lens of special education. Our program provides a pathway to licensure as a Special Education Administrator.

Whether you are seeking your administrator license or are already serving in the role, this curriculum meets the professional standards for administrative leadership to promote the learning and growth of all students and success of all staff.

Our Master's and Education Specialist (MSEd/EdS) in Special Education Administrator Online Degree Offers Two Program Options:

 

  • Initial Licensure: For students seeking a Massachusetts Initial License in Special Education Administrator
     
  • Non-Licensure: For students seeking the MSEd or EdS degree without licensure

 

The MSEd in Special Education Administrator requires a total of 36 credits. The program consists of nine core courses, a capstone course, and a supervised practicum. The EdS in Special Education Administrator requires a total of 39 credits - an additional three credit course in Research in Education.

Our Licensure program is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

Student Learning Outcomes 
Graduates who complete the Special Education Administrator program are expected to demonstrate the following standards set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education: 

- Instructional Leadership: Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff by cultivating a shared vision that makes effective teaching and schooling the central focus of schooling.

- Management and Operations: Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff by ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment, using resources to implement appropriate curriculum, staffing, and scheduling.

- Family and Community Engagement: Promote the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff through effective partnerships with families, community organizations, and other stakeholders that support the mission of the school and district. 

- Professional Culture: Promote the success of all students by nurturing and sustaining a school culture of reflective practice, high expectations, and continuous learning for staff.

When can I start the MS/EdS Degree in Special Education Administrator Online Program?
You can start your Degree in Special Education Administrator in January and September.

Can I complete the Special Education Administrator Degree while working full-time?
The majority of our students work full-time and are able to manage their academic coursework with their outside commitments. 

Are the degrees in Special Education Administrator offered online?
The course schedule is 100% online. Students learn in a small, dynamic, and interactive online community.
